MINISTRY WITH KIRK SESSION


The four committees of Session consists of Worship, Outreach, Christian Education and Communications. These committees report on a regular basis to Session.


Membership of each committee shall consist of:
(a) A minimum of five elders
(b) A mimimum of five professing members or adherents of the congregation
(c) A representative from the senior youth
(d) The minister of the congregation

Worship Committee


PURPOSE -

To give leadership in matters related to the services of worship.

MEMBERSHIP:

- In addition to general membership
(a) The Director of Music
(b) A choir representative

Responsible, together with the minister, for the conduct of public worship, special events, reception of new members, etc.
Meets the 2nd Wednesday of the month

Outreach Committee


PURPOSE -

To provide leadership in and co-ordination of congregation activity in mission, outreach, and pastoral care.

MEMBERSHIP:

- In addition to general membership
(a) A new arrival (professing member or adherent) to the congregation

Responsible for the visitation of the sick and shut-in, mission emphasis, and local social issues.
Meets the 1st Wednesday of the month at 7:30 p.m.

Christian Education Committee


PURPOSE -

To provide leadership in and co-ordination of congregational activities in Christian Education.

MEMBERSHIP:

- In addition to general membership
(a) The Superintendent of the Church School
(b) A Church School Teacher representative

Responsible for the Church School, youth groups, adult Christian Education in the congregation and in the community.
Meets the 4th Wednesday of the month at 7:30 p.m.

Communication Committee


PURPOSE -

To provide the means of keeping all members of our congregation aware of what is happening in our own church, and at other levels of the Presbyterian Church in Canada and to communicate outwards to the community.

MEMBERSHIP:

- In addition to general membership
(a) The editor of Central News
(b) The chairperson of the Women's Federation & Historical Committee.

Responsible for the production of the congregational newsletter, planning and implementing communications between the Church groups and Church Members and also responsible for publicity in the community of congregational events.
Meets the 2nd Monday of the month at 7:30 p.m.
