CENTRAL PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH

Central's Mission Statement;

Cross

Centering our lives personally and corporately in Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord,
we seek to proclaim our faith to the community and the world. This is revealed
in the way we live our everyday lives, in the way we worship
and in the way we serve the needs of others.

The scents in perfumes and aftershaves are enjoyable to many;
but they cause difficulty for those with allergies, asthma or temporary
respiratory problems. The Session members have unanimously agreed
that, out of respect for others: It makes good sense to use no scents!
We request your help and consideration in this matter.

The 23rd Psalm

(A version inspired by the Central Church Children)

- March 14th, 1999

O God, you are my protector, I have everything I need.
You let me rest in fields of pillows
and lead me to fountains of water.
You are as strong as a fort and guide me along the right paths.
Even when I go into the darkest basement,
I will not be afraid; for you are with me.
Like a parent or a teddy bear you comfort me.
You prepare a feast, with french fries and shepherds pie.
You welcome me as an honoured guest
and fill my cup to the brim.
Your goodness and love will be with me all my life;
and your house will be my home as long as I live.

-Closing Prayer -

Generous God.
May we be as free in sharing our gifts
as you are in gifting us.
We will strive to be a community
that reflects your generosity and grace.
Let us share the gift.
